Itinerary in depth

Luxury Coach
Joining the leading Giant’s Causeway tour operator on a luxury coach to depart the port within 30 minutes of docking.

Dunluce Castle
A spectacular photo opportunity on the north coast of a castle ruin clinging to the cliff edge with views of Portrush strand and Co Donegal in the background.

Guided hour long coastal walk
The coach detours slightly from the standard itinerary to drop the smaller walking group with their walking guide at Portballintrae for a short but spectacularly scenic, coastal walk to the UNESCO world heritage site of the giant’s causeway.  The geology, giant and landscape stories are all best enjoyed and experienced by walking the coastline.  The tour is perfectly designed for the visitor to take plenty of photographs.

Giant’s Causeway site
Descending the path from the visitor centre to sea level at the end of the walk there is sufficient time to enjoy climbing around the fascinating 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns before walking back to the visitor centre to rejoin the main coach tour.

Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge
The coach arrives at the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge where there is the opportunity to enjoy another short coastal walk and to cross the famous bridge.  The rope bridge was originally built by fishermen some 350 years ago.  Today the 20 metre bridge, 30 metres above the sea, attracts thrill seekers and birdwatchers in equal measure.  A fun, scenic and potentially exhilarating activity.

Antrim Coast Drive
Built in the 1830’s the Antrim coast road is regularly listed among the top coast drives in the world.  The road hugs the coastline from Larne to Cushendall and the views of the headlands, Scotland and the nine glens of Antrim are worthy of the day tour in their own right.  In any season, this drive is among the best coast drives in Ireland and indeed the world.

Belfast City Tour highlights
Before returning to the ship at the end of the day, the coach takes a drive around the main highlight attractions of the city of Belfast including the peace walls and political murals.
