About to head in to address the NI Affairs Committee
So it’s not all guiding people on the stunning Causeway Cliff Path walk day tour. Sometimes I spend time in the indoor office too. Earlier this week though I had the supreme honour to represent tour guiding when I was asked by Tour Guides NI to give evidence to the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee at the palace of Westminster in London. The Committee is currently carrying out a review into tourism and its important role in the local economy. You can watch the session online here. It is 90 minutes long and will interest anyone with a keen political interest, if you just want to watch a short section, I recommend forwarding to 10.52 to watch the last few minutes where I share my experience of the unique political tourism of Belfast. The Select Committees form an important role in addition to the work of the House of Commons and House of Lords.
