Full payment is required at booking. Cancellations less than 72 hours prior to the tour taking place will not be refunded. Cancellations before 72 hours will be refunded less a 15% admin fee. We strongly recommend that you have your own travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances that may stop you doing your tour for whatever reason.
Will the Irish weather impact my tour running?
The weather in Ireland is much milder than you may think and nowhere near as wet. Think frequent short showers rather than all day raining. We rarely cancel tours due to weather conditions, usually only once or twice a season. If we cancel the hike part of your full day causeway tour we will refund the difference in price for the standard non hiking version of the day tour. If we cancel a walking only tour we will refund the full amount. We may on occasion adapt a tour route (avoid high cliffs in high winds).
What should I wear?
Dress for the weather. Good hiking boots or shoes will trump trainers every time. You need a water proof coat and trousers that will dry easily if it rains (jeans are always best avoided for outdoor activities). If you travel in the winter you might want to leave dry trainers on the coach to change into at the end of your tour. Dress in layers. Walking in Ireland is actually quite warm work if you’ve the right clothes on.
How do cancellations work for cruise excursions?
All tours will depart the dock 30 minutes after the ship begins disembarking. Refund policy is the same for ordinary day tours, 72 hours or less we will not issue a refund. Cancellation received more than 72 hours prior to the excursion taking place will be refunded less a 15% admin fee. In the event that your ship does not dock we will issue a full refund.
What are the booking terms for walking holidays?
We require 20% deposit to secure your holiday. Full balance is required 8 weeks prior to your holiday taking place. If the full balance is not received 8 weeks prior to your holiday, you will be deemed to have cancelled your tour and your deposit will be forfeited. We will send you your full travel pack 4 weeks prior to travel.
What payment methods do you accept?
We can accept payment by paypal, BACS, or International Transfer. We recommend TransferWise for international payments. Day tour bookings are processed online by our booking provider, FareHarbor, who charge a small booking fee.
Is my money safe? – What about the Travel Package Regulations?
In line with the 1992 Travel Package Regulations your money is held in a special trust account until your holiday is completed.
What about Health and Safety?
Our tours and holidays are designed for people who enjoy being active in nature. Activities in the outdoors always carry an element of risk. All our guides are highly experienced and are qualified to the necessary level required for each tour, including having first aid training. Please inform your guide if you have any medical condition that may impact your tour. Mobile telephone signal is extensively available on the vast majority of our guided and independently guided tours and holidays. Nevertheless for independent walkers we recommend that you inform family or friends of your route and your expected time back to your accommodation.
Am I fit enough?
Most people of average fitness or above are capable of all our tours. If you have a short term injury whereby you are unsure of your fitness, we encourage you to take a 30 minute walk the day before to be sure that your injury will not unduly delay the tour. Any delayed tour due to a pre-existing injury may result in us pursuing you to cover the compensation cost of disappointed customers.
What about car hire?
If car hire is part of your package there will be additional conditions of booking. Please read all of the information regarding car hire in your travel pack.
Can I take photographs on tour?
The scenery is breathtaking. Let it take your breath away but not your time, battery power or storage capacity! Take photographs but not so many that your photography is slowing the pace of a guided tour. Always take extra care when using your camera on the cliffs.
